FreeFlight Systems announces the integration of their advanced Dual-Band ADS-B solution with Collins Aerospace’s Pro Line 21™ integrated avionics system. This collaboration brings significant functionality upgrades to pilots, enhancing situational awareness and flight safety through the delivery of real-time FIS-B (free weather) information during all phases of flight. Collins Aerospace is an RTX business.
As part of this initiative, FreeFlight Systems is collaborating with Collins Aerospace and BHE & Associates, Ltd to develop two Approved Model List (AML) Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for the installation of our Dual-Band ADS-B receiver on various Part 23 and Part 25 aircraft. This integration will seamlessly interface with the Integrated Flight Information System (IFIS-5000) on Collins Pro Line 21 systems, allowing pilots to access real-time weather data directly on the Pro Line 21 map or via popular EFB mobile apps.
“Our collaboration with Collins Aerospace reflects our commitment to providing pilots with the most advanced tools for informed decision-making,” said Anthony Rios, President of FreeFlight Systems. “By integrating our Dual-Band ADS-B solution with Collins’ leading avionics, we are enhancing in-flight situational awareness and ultimately improving safety and efficiency for operators.”
This integration allows pilots to leverage real-time ADS-B IN data alongside complementary weather sources and in-flight application integration, giving them access to a comprehensive suite of situational awareness tools. This empowers pilots to navigate around adverse weather conditions more effectively, resulting in smoother and safer flights.
Additionally, the advanced ADS-B technology integration enhances route planning and traffic management, contributing to significant fuel savings and a reduction in emissions.
The integration of FreeFlight Systems’ technology into Collins Aerospace’s Pro Line 21 flight decks will expedite the availability of these solutions. The Part 23 AML STC will apply to a range of Textron Aviation Inc. aircraft models, including the 390, 525, 525A, 525B, 525C, B200, B200C, B200CGT, B200GT, B300, B300C, C90GT, and C90GTi, all equipped with Pro Line 21 avionics. Meanwhile, the Part 25 AML STC will cover the Textron Aviation Inc. 560XL, Hawker 750, Hawker 800XP, Hawker 850XP, and Hawker 900XP models.
The development timeline for these STCs is progressing as planned. The Part 23 AML STC has been completed, and the Part 25 AML STC is expected to be finalized by May 2025. This strategic agreement highlights FreeFlight Systems’ dedication to advancing aviation technology and delivering innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and safety for every flight.
