BCA of Lyon-Bron, France Integrates 1203C as Approved Position Source in EASA-Certified ADS-B Installation Aboard Flight Test Aircraft

Waco, Texas, March 15, 2014 -- FreeFlight Systems announced today that Business and Commuter Aircraft (BCA) of Bron, France has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for a Dassault Falcon 20 ADS-B solution integrating the FreeFlight Systems 1203C WAAS/GPS with the Rockwell Collins TDR-94/94D Mode S transponder.

BCA integrated the 1203C with the TDR-94/94D (version -410) transponder in the certified ADS-B (DO-260A) solution at its avionics facility in Toulouse.

As a position source approved for all ICAO jurisdictions, the integrated 15-channel 1203C WAAS/GPS sensor is part of a fully rule-compliant and highly cost-effective ADS-B Out system when paired with a compatible DO-260A certified Mode S transponder such as the TDR-94/94D. It also can serve as the approved position source for CPDLC, TAWS/FMS and RNP 0.3 installations. The 1203C is available with an optional FIS-B ADS-B In weather data receiver as the FreeFlight Systems RANGR RX-P25 system for Part 25 aircraft in the U.S.

BCA is the official and exclusive Beechcraft reseller in France with advanced capabilities including EASA Part 145 Foreign Approval and Part 21 Design Organization Approval at its headquarters at the Lyon-Bron airport and facilities at Paris-Le Bourget and Toulouse.

"With its low-cost, proven certified performance and ease of installation, the 1203C is a compelling GPS position source solution for many business aircraft," said Gilles Collot, BCA Avionics Design Manager. "Our customers will appreciate the ability to meet ADS-B and other performance mandates in a timely and cost-effective way."

"BCA are experts in helping their customers maintain and enhance the value of their aircraft and meet regulatory requirements," said Tim Taylor, CEO of FreeFlight Systems. "Their use of the 1203C as a certified position source is an excellent example of how many customers can retrofit their aircraft to comply with NextGen equipage mandates without the need for extensive and expensive avionics upgrades."
