Finmeccanica selects FreeFlight Systems RA-4500 radar altimeter system for the AW119

April 26, 2016 - WACO, Texas - NextGen avionics leader FreeFlight Systems announced today that global aerospace, defense and transportation company Finmeccanica has selected the FreeFlight RA-4500 radar altimeter as standard equipment for AW119 single-turbine light helicopters.

The RA-4500 offers Finmeccanica's customers a highly-dependable, proven radar altimeter system that seamlessly integrates with the AW119's existing avionics. This equipment will ensure compliance with the FAA's radar altimeter mandate, which requires aircraft to be equipped with an approved solution by April 24, 2017.

FreeFlight Systems selected to equip LSA fleet with certified ADS-B solutions

April 8 2016 - WACO, Texas - NextGen avionics leader FreeFlight Systems announced today that the company has secured a letter of authorization to equip the existing Flight Design USA fleet with the company's certified RANGR ADS-B system.

FreeFlight Systems and Flight Design USA worked together to design an installation package that will provide complete ADS-B compliance for the 400+ Flight Design USA aircraft that are currently flying in the US.

"We chose the FreeFlight RANGR as it is a complete line of capable and affordable options for owners of Flight Design's existing aircraft," said John Hurst, CT avionics expert. "Aircraft owners will have peace of mind flying with FreeFlight's RANGR, as the company is the pioneer in ADS-B solutions."

The installation package includes FreeFlight Systems' certified RANGR Transmitter Lite ADS-B Out system, and will include all the necessary components required for installation. For those customers that want to fly with the benefits of ADS-B In, FreeFlight's RANGR Transceiver Lite ADS-B In/Out system is available as an optional upgrade. FreeFlight Systems' RANGR product line consists of fully-featured, TSO-certified ADS-B solutions that accommodate a wide variety of customer needs.

FreeFlight Systems announces LPV-capable 2301 NextGen FMS

April 6th, 2016 - WACO, Texas - NextGen avionics leader FreeFlight Systems announced today that the Company is now accepting orders for its 2301 NextGen GPS flight management system.

The FreeFlight Systems 2301 NextGen FMS GPS is a fully self contained flight management system designed to provide high performance instrument flight rules (IFR) navigation and GPS based landing capability for fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft. The 2301 is a complete form/fit and function replacement for the Company's successful legacy 2101 I/O approach plus.

The 2301 has been designed to support numerous current and planned nextgen applications. The built-in GPS engine is available externally as an ADS-B position source, and ADS-B control is built into the system. Kalitta Air selects FreeFlight Systems 1203C SBAS/GNSS sensor to achieve ADS-B compliance

April 5, 2016 - WACO, Texas - NextGen avionics leader FreeFlight Systems announced today that Michigan based Kalitta Air has selected the FreeFlight 1203C SBAS/GNSS sensor for retrofit into its Boeing 747 series of aircraft as part of their ADS-B compliance program.

Kalitta Air paired the 1203C with the 747's existing TPR-901 transponders.

As a certified ADS-B position source approved for all ICAO jurisdictions, the integrated 15-channel 1203C SBAS/GNSS sensor is part of a fully rule-compliant ADS-B Out system when paired with a compatible certified Mode S transponder like the TPR-901. Providing reliable service to fleets worldwide, the 1203C also serves as the approved position source for CPDLC, TAWS/FMS, RNP and other NextGen applications.
